Golfers make Homer 33C proud

Finish 2nd, 19th, 37th and 46th in State

Homer Junior High School 8th grader receives his 2nd place medal at the IESA State Tournament this past weekend in Peoria.

Four student athletes returned to Homer Junior High School this week with a lot to celebrate.

The students, who compete on their own, finished 2nd, 19th, 37th and 46th at the Illinois School Association (IESA) State Golf Tournament in Peoria.

“Our golfers had a great weekend,” said Homer Junior High School Athletic Director Amanda Monahan.

The students qualified for the State Tournament after finishing in the top 10 at sectionals earlier this month in Rockford.

They competed for the state title on Saturday (Sept. 17) at Kellogg Golf Course in Peoria. Highlights can be found at: https://www.iesa.org/activities/go/
