Taking the Mystery Out of Illinois School Finance
School finance experts to present at next three Homer 33C School
Board meeting
Join the Homer School District 33C Board of Education for an informative,
yet simplified explanation of school finance starting July 25.
Dr. Tom Kersten, a professor of Educational Leadership at Roosevelt
University and author of Taking the Mystery Out of Illinois School Finance,
will explain the key principles of Illinois school finance in a way that the
average citizen can understand.
He will be joined by his wife, Beth, who served as the Assistant
Superintendent for Business Services in Skokie School District 68.
The goal is to educate new School Board members, as well as the
community, about school finance.
The first meeting will begin 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 25 at the Hadley
Administration Center, 15733 S. Bell Road, Homer Glen. Subsequent dates
are: Tuesday, Aug. 22 and Tuesday, Sept. 26.
Teachers and administrators who attend any or all of the presentations will
earn CPDU (Continuing Professional Development Unit) credits. Please
